"ComLine", my entry to my school's game design contest, is complete.  It's a 2D space-shooter made in GameMaker using sprites converted from 3D models made in Maya.  This last week has been my first experience with crunch-time.  It has been... educational.

My game for my college's game contest is completely playable.  That is, you can go through all the levels and beat the game, but it still needs some work:  a main menu, music, voice overs, and credits.  Looks like I've still got  a bit of work ahead of me before the March 7th due date.

Before Captain America started yesterday, there was an ad for the new Thunder Cats television series.  The ad featured the old crew redesigned in Flash animation.  I was upset to see my favourite childhood show remade with what has become typical Cartoon Network animation, and I said I wouldn't watch it.  Today, while looking for info to help me bash it, I came across the kinds of trailers they ought to have shown:  the ones with footage from the actual show.  It looks awesome!  I was pleased to find that the voice of Lion-O from the original series with be voicing Lion-O's father in the new series.  I'm confused as to what Slythe and Mumm-Ra are doing on an the undistroyed planet Thundera, home of the young adult Prince Lion-O.  I guess if their going to get the location of characters and the status of planets wrong, they can get some characters' ages wrong too.  Anyways, I admit it.  I wish I had television.
Also, my wife bought me a gift the other day.  In the card she said she didn't know if I'd like it, and I had seven days to return it; that might even be enough time to play and finish the game, she wrote.  The game is Final Fantasy XIII.  FFXIII in seven days?  Yeah, right.

So begins the first ever Coin-Collection story arc.  I promise it's not all going to be about grammar.
This is, yet again, another movie no one seems to want to watch with me.  People have got no taste, I'm tellin' ya!  I did end up seeing "Buried" a few weeks ago, and it was better that I thought it would be.

The strip has officially made it through January.  Who knew it would last this long?
I hope to release an animated short in February to christen the videos section of the site.  A "How it's Made" video would be a lot of fun.  I even downloaded CamTwist to made a making-of video, but I can't seem to get it to work.  Any suggestions are welcome.

I do like to write, and while I probably could, I have not actually written the essay mention in this week's comic.
I find that these blog posts are tough to write.  Really they're the hardest thing about doing Coin Collection.
Now, how to end this post?
