"ComLine", my entry to my school's game design contest, is complete.  It's a 2D space-shooter made in GameMaker using sprites converted from 3D models made in Maya.  This last week has been my first experience with crunch-time.  It has been... educational.

What the heck?  Is there no movie reference here?  I don't see one.  Well, okay, maybe the Santa Clause.  Either way, I thought it might be nice to give you all a surprise and shake things up at the end of CC's first year.  Being very creative, I went with a Christmas themed story arc.  We'll see how this pans out.

Coolest mother's day ever yesterday.  Had some Arby's for lunch; then we checked out "Thor".  I find myself to be at a loss when I try to figure out the thought process behind scheduling the release date for this movie.  Thor's a huge dude who beats his enemies with a sledge hammer.  Doesn't quite sound like mother's day weekend is the optimal weekend for his film's release.  Still, the flick's good; not a must-see, but definitely a should-see.  The story is simple, but it's exactly as good as I needed it to be.  It was strange how they used kind of a comedy twist without making a it hokey and failing super-hero film expectations – like the Iron Man 2 train wreck.  The way that Thor defeats Loki is hilarious (that's not a spoiler; you knew Thor was gunna win).  Just shows how little a chance he stood against his brother.  The further I get from the movie, the more I like it, but still, I gotta say it:  the movie could have benefitted from a few thousand more Dutch angles.  They were like "Star Trek" lens flares, only not awesome.  Will someone keep a tally on the Dutch angles for me when they see this movie?  Take two pens; you may run out of ink.
Also, there was a trailer for a film with the ridiculous title "Cowboy Vs. Aliens".  It looks ridiculously good.

I actually play this game all the time, and the answer is usually "Star Trek".
It's simple; you give the person you're playing with a quote from a movie, worded as represented in this strip.  If they don't know what you're talking about, you give them a second quote.  If they still don't know, you give them a third quote, the easiest quote you can think of.  If they don't know what you're talking about by that point, they lose.  Try it with your colleges.  This game is exactly fun enough to be enjoyable at work.
C2E2 was a hit!  Talked to a bunch of cool writers and artists, learned a lot from the professional-hosted panel, and got to hang out with the folks of the Webcomic Alliance.  I was even able to scrape a few words out of the driest mouth I've ever had to Adam Hughes.
There was a lot of positive feedback regarding the exclusive C2E2 strip, which I handed out to my art heroes and some people I never knew of who were doing crazy-cool work.  Besides a small sack of swag I assembled over the weekend, I received some awesome gifts!

Why Weebly wants to turn the bottom pictures on their side is beyond me, and I can't seem to fix the problem.
